My answer: The church is mostly within the community of Mission Hill (currently). The church is comprised of people. A church is not a building. We are becoming a third culture for interethnic Boston. That's a mouthful of loaded, heavy words. Essentially we are a fusion or hodgepodge of divergent people united to help our communities thrive and participate in the development, life, and culture in a few countries. That's grand but that's a part of the invitation Christ extends to us as we are the salt of the earth bearing His kingdom within.

My new question is: So what kind of person are you?

what's an ethne?

Pronounced "eth--nay." The word is translated to mean “nations” or more loosely, "people(s)." In Bible times this word was used to communicate God's desire for all peoples of the world to know how good God really is and to know His love and His justice.

The word 'ethne' isn't English. It's a Greek word and relates to our word 'ethnicity,' referring to different types of people. This word was chosen for our name because we want (1) it to be known that we are a people belonging God and (2) all peoples of the world to know that God loves us and that our lives have their cure and completion in Jesus.

our make up

We are a community of faith existing, sharing, and contributing to the life of Boston.
