faq > general > what's an ethne?

Pronounced "eth--nay." The word is translated to mean “nations” or more loosely, "people(s)." In Bible times this word was used to communicate God's desire for all peoples of the world to know how good God really is and to know His love and His justice.

ethne-q.gifThe word 'ethne' isn't English. It's a Greek word and relates to our word 'ethnicity,' referring to different types of people. This word was chosen for our name because we want  (1) it to be known that we are a people belonging God and (2) all peoples of the world to know that God loves us and that our lives have their cure and completion in Jesus.
